Five Parrots Separated At Zoo Because Of The Rude Things They Were Saying To Guests
Parrots are pretty fascinating birds, both in the way they look and because they can speak like humans!
Have you ever heard of parrots having to be separated because of what they were saying? Here's that story!
Many Exhibits To Explore
Going to the zoo is an exciting experience for people of all ages.
You can see unique animals from all over the world all in one place and right up close.
Zoo In The U.K. Making Waves
A British wildlife park, the Lincolnshire Wildlife Park, is more than a zoo.
They focus on giving captive animals a meaningful life. They also are home to the National Parrot Sanctuary.
Ruffling A Few Feathers
They are one of the largest parrot sanctuaries in the world.
It is one of their breeds of parrots, the grey parrot, that ruffled the feathers of their staff and guests.
The Swearing Parrots
Five of their grey parrots had to be separated because they were swearing at the same time!
While the zoo was used to parrots swearing, they had never had a group of them all swearing at the same time.
Think Of The Children!
The parrots were encouraging each other to start swearing.
They were given a parrot time-out and each moved to different areas of the zoo. They didn't want any kids who were visiting to hear these swearing fits.
What Happened To "Polly Want A Cracker"?
Another reason for the time-out was so that the group of five wouldn't end up getting the hundreds of other birds to swear along with them.
What happened to the simpler times when parrots would ask you if you wanted a cracker?
