Thanks to Paris Hilton and the Kardashians, most people know what a "selfie" is. This fad has dominated all social media platforms, whose to say animals can't join in on the fun? These animals wanted to strike and pose and make sure the camera caught their good side.
The Tongue Pose
The whole sticking your tongue out thing while taking a picture has never quite made sense. When you're a little kid it's the same thing as giving someone the bird, but once you're older, is it supposed to be attractive?
Either way, this adorable pug gets a pass because he can't help himself. Why? because he's a dog and that's what dogs do. He does look like he's been watching his owner practice in the mirror. 10/10 form. Good boy.
This Is Their Crew
We all have seen this one before. A group of bros about to go out on the town and have a blast. But don't forget, these are some serious bad boys but it's still essential everyone sees how fresh they look tonight.

By the looks of it, these two hounds decided to take it easy for the night and spend their evening taking as many selfies as possible. Some with filters, some without filters, some with the tongue in, some with the tongue out, the opportunities are endless.
These dogs will have fully documented their evening together. If they eventually get the perfect selfie, they may even post it on social media to talk about how they're too old to go out even though this is the first time they haven't in the last six months.

This pup clearly has no lack of self-confidence, and by the looks of it, this is not their first selfie. The lighting is perfect, and the pose on point with the closed eyes and everything. This is clearly no amateur, this dog takes pride in its craft.
Such a selfie also takes a lot of skill to nail on the first shot with your eyes closed. The framing is impeccable, so if you ask me, this was not just a quick selfie. Some serious time, effort, and love went into this picture.
Two Brothers on an Adventure
Something tells me these two lion cubs have strayed away from the pack for their first time. But, of course, they have to document the moment to show their other siblings that they actually did it, they just can't tell mom.
The quality of the photo looks like these cubs got their hands on an iPhone 7, I mean, look at that portrait mode. If their mom does end up finding out and gets mad at them, she at least has to give them credit for their photography skills.
Drunk at the Club
It appears that this pug decided to go out and ended up having one too many. She was probably in the middle of taking a bathroom selfie when her friend in the back reminded her that they had leftover Chinese food back at the apartment. The result was this beautiful picture.

By the looks on this dog's face, it's safe to bet that this selfie was not taken for this dog's pleasure. If anything, he looks ashamed. If I had to bet, his mother wanted to know if he lied to her about where he was going and made him text her a selfie of where he is.
However, it's hard to say if he's in the process of getting busted, or his friends are out of frame laughing at him. Whichever it is, I hope this dog's day turns around. Nobody should look like that in a selfie.
Legal Troubles
In 2011, this 11-year old monkey named Naruto took photographer David Slater's camera while he was on an assignment in Indonesia. The animal rights organization PETA argued that republishing the photo was an infringement on Naruto's rights. Slater said he will donate 25% of any future revenue acquired from the photo to charities that protect crested macaques like Naruto.
The issue began when it was posted to Wikipedia, in which the person who posted it said it was uncopyrightable since it was taken by an animal. This led to complex legal questions in which PETA sued the individual that posted the picture, the court agreed with the defendant, yet PETA appealed.

What we have here is what appears to be one of those individuals willing to risk their life for a cool photo. Looking at this lemur's facial expression, something tells me that there's something big running behind him, and fast, and he's patiently waiting for the perfect moment to snap a pic.
