Identical Twin Sisters Marry Identical Twin Brothers And Move Into The Same House
A typical love story usually involves a boy and a girl who fall in love, get married and start a family. However, in the case of Josh and Jeremy Salyers and their wives, Brittany and Briana Dean, it was a shared experience. This is because Josh and Jeremy are identical twin brothers and Brittany and Briana are identical twin sisters. The two couples met each other at the same time, got engaged at the same time, and even moved into the same house together. Read on for a peek at what their lives are like!
Brittany And Briana Shared Everything Their Whole Lives
Chances are that few people have the same kind of bond that identical twins share. They shared the same womb, they look alike, and they even have similar memories from growing up together and experiencing the same things.
So, it's not unusual that a pair of twins would have similar personalities, tastes, and needs. However, Brittany and Briana took things a step further when they made the decision to marry two identical twin brothers.
They're The Very Definition Of Identical
Brittany and Briana have always been extremely close. They spent the majority of their time together except for a brief stint in college when they attended separate schools.
Not only do they have nearly identical DNA, but their names also start with the same letter, and they like to dress in similar clothes and have the same hairstyle. On top of that, the two sisters both studied law and work as attorneys in the same law firm.
They Experimented With "Singleton" Men
For each of the two girls, being a twin was their most defining characteristic. Over the years they tried dating what they referred to as "singletons," or men who didn't have a twin sibling, but they always felt something was missing.
For them, their lives were always going to intertwined, which meant that they also wanted to act as mothers to each other's children. Briana explained, "That was something always in the back of our minds dating singleton men. There wasn't that understanding of what happens when there are children."
Attending The Twins Festival
Realizing that dating "singleton" men might not necessarily work out for them, the sisters decided to try something new. This led them to attend the Twins Festival in Twinsburg, Ohio, in August 2017. It was at that festival that they met Josh and Jeremy Salyers, their future husbands.
According to Briana, "It was one of the most magical moments [...] "For me, it went in like slow motion, like a movie. We all believe in soulmates and we all felt that instant connection."
The Girls Were Breathless
At the festival, Brittany was the first one to spot Jeremy and Josh. Sitting with Briana, she recalls having her breath taken away when the two walked by. She grabbed Briana's hand to get her attention and pointed in the direction of the two men.
The two both knew they needed to go talk to them as soon as possible. Although they were overcome with excitement, it wouldn't be until the end of the festival that they made their move.
Becoming Social Media Friends
After the two girls finally approached the Salyers brothers, of course, one of the first things they did was share their social media accounts with each other. After the festival had ended, the two brothers reached out saying that they were excited to see the girls again at the Twin Festival next year.
However, the girls felt this was far too long to go without seeing the brothers and responded with "Why wait?" Not long after, the two pairs met up in Virginia to see each other.
Their Meet-Up Went Swimmingly
When the two sets of twins finally saw each other once again, things couldn't have gone any better. Both parties were having a great time and they made it clear that wanted to be around each other as much as possible.
The four of them were falling in with one another just like a fairytale. Even better, both sets of twins expressed their desire to one day marry another set of twins to create one big happy family of four.
Josh And Jeremy Were Just Like The Girls
Josh and Jeremy were also very close and had a lot of similarities, just like Briana and Brittany. Both of their names started with the same letter, and they also worked the same job at a manufacturing business. Josh stated that "We kind of always knew that we were never getting married unless it was to twins."
Briana agreed to say, "Ever since we were little girls, we have always known that there were identical twin boys who were going to marry us one day."
Proposing At The Same Time
On February 2, or (2-2), an Inside Edition camera crew followed the couples on a trip to Twin Lakes, Virginia. The girls believed that they were going to be part of a commercial, and didn't think twice about the boys wearing matching tuxedos.
They didn't realize what was happening until Josh and Jeremy both got down on one knee and proposed to Briana and Brittany with identical rings. Of course, the sisters answered, "Yes!" in unison.
They're In Different Relationships
Although all four of them shared a deep connection, they aren't all dating each other. Briana is in a relationship with Jeremy and Brittany is involved with Josh.
Interestingly, Briana and Jeremy were both out of the womb first, while Brittany and Josh were both born second. However, even though each pair is in a separate relationship, that doesn't mean that they plan on living apart.
They Wanted To Get Married As Soon As Possible
Neither of the pairs of siblings could believe what was happening. This is something that they had dreamed of their entire lives and it was finally coming true.
Understandably, the four wanted to get married as soon as possible and chose a date just six months after the brothers popped the question. That's not very much time to plan a wedding, but luckily, there were four of them to split up the work!
A Twins Theme
Being twins was a huge part of the four of the couple's lives, so of course, they made it part of their wedding, which had a twins theme. The four of them were married at the same time and at the same altar, making everything just as identical as they were.
Both were thrilled to be standing at the alter, not just with the love of their lives but with their siblings as well, who were their other lifelong companions.
Twins Everywhere!
Almost everything about the wedding was identical. They had the same cakes, identical wedding gowns, identical suits, and even two identical twin ministers to officiate their wedding. They also knew that they wanted to get married somewhere that was meaningful to them all.
Fittingly, they decided that they would have the ceremony where the four had first met, in Twinsburg, Ohio. Unfortunately, their decision to have it there caused a few problems for the recently engaged twins.
The Issues With Ohio
Although Twinsburg, Ohio would have been the perfect location for the ceremony considering it’s where they met and had the word “twin” in the name, there was one problem. None of them were residents of the state of Ohio.
Crossing state lines to get married presented a number of bureaucratic issues, but thankfully, they were able to overcome them. Luckily for them, they were all on the same page on what they wanted their wedding to be like, so there were no problems there.
Everything Worked Out
The wedding turned out to be everything they could have wanted and it all turned out perfect. Jeremy and Briana were married right next to their siblings in something that could only have been described as a dream for the two couples.
A combined wedding would prove to only be the first step in all of their relationships. There was a lot more still to come, and the two couples had big plans for their future together as a family.
The Wedding Was A Public Affair
Although their friends and families joined the Salyers brothers and the Deane sisters on their wedding day, they weren’t the only people in attendance. Their unique situation attracted several media outlets who were interested in getting in on the action.
One of these was the TLC network, who had proposed that they film a documentary around their wedding, and their lives once all of the wedding chaos was over. Basically, TLC was offering them a reality television show.
Accepting TLC’s Offer
The Salyers couples decided to accept TLC’s offer; however, instead of signing up to do a reality show, they agreed to do just a single documentary. The documentary mostly focused on the wedding and it aired in early 2019.
The documentary did incredibly well for TLC, and viewers fell in love with the recently married couples. Something the documentary did well was highlight the personal side to each of the couple’s relationships, which is something not everyone thinks about.
Talking About Living Together
After the wedding, Briana, Brittany, Jeremy, and Josh made it clear that they had plans to move in together. This way, they can be as close and involved in each other’s lives as possible.
It also made sense for them to do since Briana and Brittany work in the same office as well as Jeremy and Josh. However, they only had a big concern about their future. What if one of the women got pregnant before the other?
What About Children?
According to Jeremy, Briana’s husband, “We want to have twins and we want them to be born on the same day. I know that’s four babies.”
Well, if the group gets their wish, at least they would have four people to help carry the load of having four newborn babies. Jeremy continued, “We’ll be raising our families together as well, that’s something we’re all on the same page too.” At this rate, they very well might get their wish, again!
Genetic Siblings
While Briana and Brittany’s kids would technically be cousins, as well as Josh and Jeremy’s, they’ll be full siblings from a genetic standpoint. This couldn’t make the four of them any happier because they all want to be as close as possible.
Brittany explains, “Because genetically if you think about it, it’s like mind-blowing. Our children will be genetic siblings [...] So they’ll be cousins in theory, but they’ll be genetic siblings because we share DNA, and they have the same DNA.”
Raising Children With Four Parents?
Eventually, the couples had to think about what it would be like for their children to grow up with two sets of identical parents. They especially had to think about when the babies would first be developing, unsure of who their actual parents are.
However, having kids isn’t the first thing on the twins’ minds, so they’re not losing sleep over these issues just yet. Surely, they know that as long as they’re loving and dedicated parents that everything will turn out just fine.
They Used A Clever Hashtag For Their Wedding
Using a hashtag for events such as weddings and parties has become commonplace on social media. So, when the twin couples were planning their own wedding, they knew they needed a hashtag but also knew they needed the perfect one.
They were sure that it had to have something to do with being twins but also wanted it to be romantic. In the end, they ended up going with #TwiceUponATime, the perfect reference to their fairytale wedding.
Other People Wanted To Share Their Story Too
Besides from TLC, other television networks wanted a chance to tell the story of the twins and how they all fell in love and were married. In April 2018, the syndicated television show Pickler and Ben, hosted by Kellie Pickler and Ben Aron, asked to have the two couples to come on the show.
In the episode, the four of them discussed the proposal, relationship, and their upcoming wedding. It was clear that they were all more than thrilled.
Finding The Right Rings
Like any engagement, finding the right ring for the occasion was of utmost importance for Josh and Jeremy. However, for them, the stress of picking out one their fiances would like was doubled.
Although the boys knew that the girls had an identical taste when it came to clothes and jewelry, they still didn’t want to risk disappointing both of them. Unsurprisingly, both girls loved their rings and couldn't stop themselves from showing them off.
They Had Matching Clothes Too, Of Course
Considering that both the girls and the guys dressed similarly in their everyday lives, it was clear that for the wedding, Josh and Jeremy would have matching tuxedos and Briana and Brittany would have matching dresses.
It only made sense. When the four of them were together taking pictures, they certainly stole the show with how good they all looked. We hope that they will be able to recognize themselves when they’ve all grown old!
The Worst Thing That Could Have Happened
Although everything couldn’t have worked out better for the two sets of twins, one thing that could have ended it all is if one of the girls declined the proposal.
This certainly would have been awkward for everyone involved and would have more than likely created some serious problems. Would one of the couples still have been married if the other two had broken up? Of course, that didn’t happen and they had a fairytale ending.
Josh And Jeremy Made Sure Their Proposal Was Well Rehearsed
In order to make sure that their proposal went off without a hitch, and that everything looked as in-sync as possible, the two brothers practiced the motions over and over.
They wanted to make sure that they would propose to their future wives in unison so it looked like they put the work in. To make it as well-executed as possible, they did their due diligence, and it all paid off in the end with a beautiful proposal and both girls saying yes.
Practically The Same People
The Salyers brothers and Deane sisters may be identical twins, there’s no denying that even by identical standards they are unbelievably similar looking. Most twins slowly start to look different to each other as they grow older, but here these four adults still look the same!
At times, they look so much alike that people think the photos have been enhanced to make them look even more alike. However, it’s no trick! It’s almost unbelievable!
The Goal To Become Pregnant At The Same Time
One of the things that the sisters and the two brothers want the most is to be pregnant at the same time. This way, they can raise their families together.
Briana explained, “If Brittany was pregnant, I would prefer being pregnant too [...] Being pregnant at different times would be difficult especially with the physical changes that happen.” Since they’ve always been the same, having one of them undergo such intense physical changes while the other isn’t would be difficult for both of them.
The Girl's Mother Has Her Own Set Of Questions
The girls’ mother, Debra Deane, is incredibly supportive and always wants what’s best for her daughters. Of course, she’s over the moon that her two girls found the loves of their lives, but she also has questions about what will happen when it comes to having children.
She commented, “I like to think about their families and what their life might be like. If they end up with one child, do they have four parents?” How will discipline work?” She definitely recognizes that it will be an interesting experience
Not Everyone Is Thrilled For The Twins
Unsurprisingly, not everyone who hears the story of the pairs of twins and their marriage is as thrilled as others are.
According to Josh, “Everyone is OK with the whole twin relationship and twins marrying twins [...] but when we start discussing raising a family together and living together, they think it is really out of the ordinary and weird that we’d want to do that.” However, at the end of the day, it’s not for anyone to decide except the four of them.
Mirror Image Identical Twins
Briana considers Brittany and herself to be “mirror-image identical twins, which means that whatever one does on one side - the other does or has on the other side." Understandably, it’s a hard thing to maintain, especially when it comes to romance.
However, it’s been made exponentially easier for the two girls by marrying men who are also identical twins and look just as much alike as the two sisters do. Things certainly worked out for these four!
Twins Or Nobody At All
Apparently, Josh and Jeremy had decided that if they couldn’t find two twins to marry, they most likely weren’t going to get married at all. Josh explained that “It’s just a bond and understanding that you couldn’t find anywhere else.”
Briana chimed in, saying, “Everything had to line up. Neither of them can be married, neither of us can be married, the same age, everyone’s attracted. There’s a lot of elements that have to make the stars to align for it to work out.”
Was Their Dream Too Unrealistic?
With Brittany and Briana entering their 30s, the two sisters had begun asking themselves if their dream of marrying another set of twins was unrealistic. They were afraid that they might have had to sacrifice their own relationship with each other in order to find love and luckily, that didn’t have to happen.
Josh and Jeremy agree and claim that none of them take their relationship for granted. It’s incredibly rare that the four of them managed to find each other as well as truly fall in love.
Possible Confusion Between Relationships
Apparently, the one thing that everyone asks the four twins is whether they’ve ever mixed each other up or kissed the wrong person. According to the twins, it hasn’t happened yet and they don’t think that it will anytime soon.
Brittany is not-too-patient when answering this question. She usually responds by saying, "We think that’s weird that that is what you would think.” Yet, when some people wonder about these things the twins are usually forgiving. It is a strange situation, after all!
Better Than Just Finding Love
For Brittany and Briana, one of the best parts about their relationship with the boys is that they get to see the person that they share the closest bond with find love too.
The two share the same positive energy, which is contagious. So, both finding the loves of their lives at the same time has only strengthened their bond and that of Josh and Jeremy as well. How fortunate for everyone!
Briana And Brittany Have A Blog
Even before meeting their twin husbands, the two sisters were well aware of how different their lives were from their friends (and most of the population).
So, before word caught wind about the two finding love, the girls created a blog where they share photos of themselves together and explain how they dress and live identical lives. The site is mainly so the public can see for themselves and learn about the twins from a distance if they want to.
Another Coincidence Between The Married Couples
When getting to know each other, Brittany, Briana, Josh, and Jeremy talked about a lot, but especially about being twins. The two pairs learned a lot from each other about their own relationships while simultaneously discovering that they had a lot of similarities.
One of the most significant coincidences they found was that both Brittany and Brianna and Jeremy and Josh were born precisely five minutes apart from each other. It may seem like it’s too special to be true, but then again, what isn’t about their relationship?
Growing To Become Celebrities
Considering their unique situation, it’s not all that surprising to learn that the two couples have become celebrities of sorts, especially since their wedding. They’ve appeared on numerous different talk shows such as Pickler and Ben, the TLC documentary on their wedding, and the British talk show This Morning with Phillip and Holly.
Since becoming married, they’ve also decided to take things easy and enjoy their time together. Now, everybody’s just waiting to hear from them about having kids!
