True Romance: Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Cutest Moments Captured In Photos
As one of the most popular members of the British royal family, Prince Harry's personal life has always been of huge interest to the public. And when he met the woman of his dreams, Meghan Markle, people just couldn't get enough of the two of them together as they transitioned from dating to marriage to parenthood and now embark on a brand new journey completely independent of their previous royal duties. Through it all, we've seen nothing but love between Harry and Meghan, and here are some of their sweetest moments captured in photos.
Lean On Me
The loving couple is seen here literally leaning into each other for comfort as they tour a boarding house while on an official visit to Morocco in early 2019. Students from the boarding house performed a welcoming ceremony for the Duke and Duchess during their visit.
Meghan kept her look casual but chic in a classic navy blazer, cropped pants, and ballet flats. Harry opted for a zip-up sweater and dark jeans for the day. It's so sweet to see them being so affectionate.
Love Among The Redwoods
In this gorgeous shot, Harry and Meghan show their love for the outdoors (and each other) as they take a leisurely hand-in-hand hike through the Redwoods Forest in Rotorua, New Zealand, in 2018.
At the end of their tour, they shared some photos to Instagram with the caption: "Thank you New Zealand for the most wonderful last week of our tour. It has been a privilege to meet so many friendly Kiwis. Australia, Fiji, Tonga and NZ - we leave feeling inspired and reminded of how every single one of us can make a difference."
Let A Smile Be Your Umbrella
Meghan once had this to say about Prince Harry. "We're in love... we’re happy. Personally, I love a great love story." How romantic!
This black-and-white photo of the couple sharing an umbrella is one of the sweetest moments we've seen of them. As they gaze into each other's eyes, they don't even seem to notice the rain coming down all around them. This photo was taken in London in March 2020, shortly before they began their new lives together away from the royal family.
The 'New Parent' Glow
During a royal tour of South Africa in September of 2019, new parents Meghan and Harry brought little four-month-old Archie along to meet the Archbishop Desmond Tutu. This photo perfectly captured the happy family's joy, with Meghan laughing while Harry looks on at his wife and their son.
The trio met with Tutu and his daughter Thandeka, who presented the child with a basket of gifts. They gave Harry two framed photos of his mother, the late Princess Diana, posed with Tutu in a previous visit.
Looking Chic Together In London
Ooh la la! This isn't the first time we've seen the lovebirds sporting complementary outfits, but it might be one of our favorites. The Duke and Duchess are leaving The Royal Variety Performance 2018 at London Palladium in November of 2018, and they look simply stunning together in these black-and-white ensembles.
It was a thrilling night for the pair, who got to mingle with the cast of Hamilton. They were also treated to a number of musical performances.
Visiting Another Charitable Foundation
Here are the Duke and Duchess beaming as they meet people during a tour of the Hive, Wirral Youth Zone, which is a facility established to help young people with disabilities. The tour was during a visit to Birkenhead, United Kingdom, in early 2019.
After the visit, the Hive posted this sweet message to their Facebook page. "Thank-you Harry and Meghan for visiting our wonderful OnSide Youth Zones and meeting our young members. We will be forever grateful."
Always A Smile For The Children
Harry and Meghan always have a smile for the children they meet. Here, they were taking a walkabout in Bristol, England in February of 2019 when they stopped to have a chat with this group of admiring children.
This was a cold day, and Harry asked one of the children, "Are you nice and warm in here?" as he admired their snowsuit. Meghan was introduced to a little girl who called herself "Ballerina," to which the Duchess replied, "Nice to meet you. Is Ballerina your real name?”
A Gift For Little Archie
At the WellChild Awards at Royal Lancaster Hotel in October of 2019, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan were presented with an adorable onesie for their baby Archie.
The WellChild Awards honor seriously ill children across the United Kingdom and is a cause near and dear to the couple. Harry is a patron of the charity, and he and Meghan spent plenty of time meeting with the inspirational young people and their families.
Their Last Joint Public Engagement As Working Royals
If they were nervous about this day, Harry and Meghan did a very good job hiding it. The couple bravely faced their last-ever engagement as working royals on March 9, 2020, at the annual Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey in London.
It was also their last public family gathering before they embarked on their new life journey together. Meghan wowed in an emerald dress, cape, and hat combo while Harry opted for a more toned-down suit for the occasion.
Relaxed Romance In Australia
A week after announcing that they were expecting a baby, Harry and Meghan looked relaxed and happy as they strolled along a jetty on Fraser Island in Australia in 2018. This excursion was part of their official 16-day Autumn tour visiting cities in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Tonga.
While on the island, they took some personal time for a stay at the eco-friendly Kingfisher Bay Resort, where "They were able to escape from the press and have a night of privacy, tucked away in a secret location within the sprawling resort grounds," according to resort management afterward.
A Visit To Canada House In London
In their first public appearance of 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stopped by Canada House in London in order to thank the High Commissioner for the hospitality they received during their Christmas holiday spent in British Columbia, Canada.
It's hard not to notice the excitement on both their faces with such a bright new future ahead of them. Meghan is positively beaming and Harry looks like he's trying to contain a grin himself.
Beaming At Buckingham Palace
In March of 2019, the Queen hosted a reception to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the investiture of her son, Prince Charles, as the Prince of Wales. He was formally given the title in 1958 when he was just eight years old.
Meghan was heavily pregnant at the anniversary celebration, with son Archie born just two months later. She's stunning in a metallic jacquard dress, and Harry couldn't look more proud to be by her side for this important event.
First Public Appearance Together
You might not immediately recognize it by their casual attire, but this photo was taken during a very big moment during the young couple's early relationship. After nearly a year of tabloid speculation, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made their first public appearance together in 2017.
They sat together courtside at the Invictus Games, watching New Zealand and Australia's players face off in the semi-finals. Markle had recently opened up to Vanity Fair about their relationship, saying, "We're a couple. We’re in love."
Another Gift For Little Archie
Awww, look at that adorable little jersey with Archie's name on it! The Duke and Duchess were gifted with this cute onesie by the New York Yankees at a June 2019 game between the Yankees and the Boston Red Sox, which took place in London.
Later, Harry revealed he and Meghan had a rough time trying to get then-seven-week-old Archie to bed the night before the big game and were running on adrenaline the next day!
Sampling Local Foods Together
Here's a cute snap of the casually-dressed Duke and Duchess at a cooking demonstration during their 2019 tour of Morocco. A Self-proclaimed foodie, Meghan was eager to sample some of the delicious offerings, including a pigeon pastilla that Harry is a big fan of.
They're sipping a spicy chickpea soup here, which Meghan said was "delicious." The Duke and Duchess were also presented with gifts during this event, including a lovely bouquet of roses and a painting.
Matching Outfits For The Win
How adorable is it that the Duke and Duchess are wearing matching outfits here? They're seen arriving at the Mountbatten Music Festival on March 7, 2020. This was one of their last royal engagements, so it's not likely that we'll get to see Harry in his military uniform again anytime soon, if ever.
They looked stunning together, with Meghan matching Harry's look in a red Safiyaa cape dress, paired with Stuart Weitzman shoes, a Manolo Blahnik clutch, and Simone Rocha earrings.
Animal Lovers
On a 2018 visit to Tonga, the royal couple dedicated two rainforest tracts to the Queen's Commonwealth Canopy. After the ceremony, Harry and Meghan were introduced to a rare local parrot called koki, which was in the cage they're seen smiling into here.
Later in the day, Harry sang along with some local schoolchildren as they performed the rugby anthem "Swing Low Sweet Chariot," which received much cheering and applause from onlookers.
Warm Greetings In New Zealand
This photo of the Duke and Duchess taking part in a Public Walkabout in New Zealand was taken just a few days after they publicly announced that they were expecting a child. Meghan is glowing here and gently cradles her growing belly. As always, Harry seems delighted to be by her side.
More than a thousand people gathered to greet the couple, who met with many of their fans during the event at the Viaduct Harbour in Auckland.
Surprise Joint Appearance At A Charity Event
The crowd must have been absolutely floored when Harry and Meghan made a surprise appearance together at the 2019 WE Day event in London. Meghan is just weeks away from giving birth to baby Archie in this photo!
During their speech, Prince Harry shared a powerful quote by Martin Luther King: "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."
'Welly Wanging' In New Zealand
In this cute photo, we see Meghan tossing a rubber boot in a game called "Welly Wanging" while on tour in New Zealand in 2018. The point of the game is to throw a Wellington boot as far as possible. Harry looks delighted as his new wife enjoys a bit of local fun.
The Duke and Duchess are playing the game with a group of children who are part of an environmental education program. This was part of their first official tour after getting married. Harry and Meghan also visited Australia, Fiji, and Tonga on the 16-day journey.
