In 2011 we all turned our TVs on no matter the time to watch Kate Middleton and Prince William said "I do". Then in 2018, we did it all over again to watch Prince Harry and Meghan Markle become husband and wife. These two weddings were monumental moments for the British royal family, and while overall the two weddings were fairly different there were still some key similarities. Waving To The Crowd
Upon officially joining the British royal family, Duchesses Kate and Meghan are expected to demonstrate the perfect regal wave as a sign of appreciation for the people that have gathered to celebrate.
Kate keeps her fingers close together for her wave, while Meghan has her fingers a bit more relaxed and spaced out. Both ladies use minimal movement while waving to the crowds.

It's no secret that both royal weddings cost well above the average wedding for a commoner.
In total, Prince William and Kate's 2011 wedding hosted 2,500 guests and cost around $34 million. In 2018, Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding had a smaller guest list of 600, yet it cost a reported $35 million.

Kate's veil was a top-secret project of the Royal School of Needlework that paired elegantly with the tiara borrowed from the Queen.

Prince Harry and Meghan opted for a lemon sponge cake with elderflower syrup and Amalfi lemon curd for their big day. Made by Claire Ptak, this cake cost an estimated $70,000, according to Bridebook.
