Liu Yifei Is The New Mulan
Liu Yifei's acting career is blossoming. The 33-year-old actress plays the starring role in Disney's live action film, Mulan (2020) and has made the Forbes list of top Chinese celebrities of 2020. Liu was born in China and immigrated to the United States with her mother, a stage performer, when she was 10-years-old.
While Liu is a recognized actress in Asia (she won Best Actress at China's Macau International Movie Festival in 2012), Liu is still breaking into mainstream Hollywood.
Aside from her acting career and starring role in Mulan, Liu is also a musical artist and has released two albums-- one Chinese and one Japanese. She's also had many of her singles featured on soundtracks.
Liu also sparked controversy when she tweeted her support for the Hong Kong police in the midst of protests in China's city that turned violent. Disney advised the actress to steer away from politics. We'll be hearing more from Liu, soon!
