These Mixed Breed Dogs Prove That Purebred Isn’t Perfect
I know purebred dogs are something of a status symbol, but if you ask me, mixed breeds are so much more interesting. Purebred dogs can have a lot of health and genetic issues from being inbred. With mixed breed dogs, you get more genetic diversity, which means these dogs don't have as many genetic diseases.
Also, mixed breed dogs are super interesting. It's cool to see which traits of each parent they inherit. Keep reading to see some of the coolest hybrid doggos out there.
The Basic Labradoodle
Labradoodles have become so common that they might as well be a pure breed. People love Labradoodles because they have all the loyalty, spunk, and playfulness of a labrador mixed with the hypoallergenic fur of a poodle. In a lot of ways, they're the perfect family pet.
There are some more uncommon crossbreeds to come on this list, though.
The Proud Parents
Do these two pups look like a perfect pair to you? Both of these dogs belong to Malachi Ferdinand. Malachai lives in England, and in 2014, his female mastiff, Coco, gave birth to a litter of puppies. Malachai didn't even know Coco was pregnant.
The father of the puppies was none other than Malachai's other dog, a Chihuahua-Pomeranian cross named Bailey. Talk about a size difference. How did this even happen?
An Adorable Puppy
Malachi kept one of the puppies and named him Nemo. The rest of the puppies went to loving homes where they would have lots of room to run around and play.
These puppies were pretty— let's say unconventional looking. I mean, when you mix a huge mastiff with a little chihuahua, you never know what you're going to get. Malachai was surprised by this new addition to his family, but he was surprised in the best way possible.
And Baby Makes Four
Malachai took Nemo to the vet for a checkup and the vet said that he was perfectly healthy. Apparently, Nemo has his dad's yappy bark and his mom's relaxed attitude. These guys get a lot of weird looks when they all go out in public together, but Malachai doesn't mind.
He's very happy with his odd-looking family. Nemo might be strange, but you have to admit that he's pretty cute.
A Foxy Pomsky
If you thought Malachi's dog family was interesting, take a look at this foxy creature. This is Mya and she's a cross between a Husky and a Pomeranian. Remember, Malachai's dog Bailey is part Pomeranian.
Mya is living proof that mixed breed dogs can be absolutely gorgeous. Who are you calling a mutt? This dog is absolutely stunning. Look at those gorgeous blue eyes! They really pop against her bright orange coat.
A Friendly Horgi
Apparently, there's no limit when it comes to Husky mixes. This is a Horgi. Her name is Bella and she's a cross between a Husky and a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Bella has the coloring and face shape of a Husky, but the body and stubby legs of a Corgi. It's really the best of both worlds.
This is exactly what I was expecting when I heard that Horgis existed and Bella did not disappoint.
A Wrinkly Basset
This little dog is a mix between a wrinkly Shar-pei and a short and stubby Basset Hound. Whenever you mix another breed with Shar-pei, you never know how many wrinkles the offspring are going to have.
Sometimes half the puppies come out wrinkly and the other half come out looking freshly ironed. This pup got lucky. He's got so many wrinkles on his face and neck. His back end looks more like a Basset Hound.
A Regular Schnoodle
Ok, this might be the silliest name for a dog breed ever, but how can you not love a schnoodle? This dog does not look amused with us laughing over their name. A schnoodle is a cross between a schnauzer and a poodle, so he's small and sweet and hypoallergenic.
This dog might even have some Bernese Mountain Dog in him— at least, that's what it looks like from his coloring. Maybe his mom was a mixed breed dog too.
A Dorgi? A Dalmorgi?
I don't know what to call this dog, but I do know that it might be the cutest thing I've ever seen. I think I like the term "Dalmorgi." This pup is a cross between a Dalmatian and a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
It's short like a Corgi but spotted like a Dalmatian. I wonder if a dog like this would be allowed to ride around in a firetruck? I don't see why not. Anybody who wouldn't let this pup in a firetruck would be guilty of discrimination.
The Squishiest Bullpug
This little pup is called a Bullpug because calling her a "Bug" would just be rude. This is Bella (yup, there are two Bellas on this list. If you keep reading, you might find some more. It's a pretty popular name amongst dogs). She's a cross between a Pug and a Bulldog.
She has a distinctly Pug face with the ears and body of a bulldog. Actually, now that I'm looking at her more closely, maybe she has the face of a Bulldog and the body of a Pug...
This Puggle Is Ready For A Fiesta
This is Bently. Bently is half Pug and half Beagle, also known as a Puggle. He's in his Mexican garb today for some reason. Maybe it's taco night. Neither Pugs nor Beagles are Mexican dogs, so it's not really on brand, but I can't say that I'm mad about it.
This dog has the squishy face of a Pug with the ears and coloring of a Beagle. He's way too cute for this life.
A Saint Bernoodle
Saint Bernards are huge dogs, but they become a little bit more manageable when you mix them with a Poodle. There isn't as much shedding or as much drool. Saint Bernoodles are still huge dogs, though, so if you're thinking about adopting one, you're going to want to make sure that you have a big house and a big yard.
This dog looks so cuddly! I just want to lie next to him and fall asleep.
This Pup Is French And German
This gentle giant is a cross between a French Bulldog and a German Shepherd. It has the coloring of a Frenchie but the size and style of a fully grown German Shepherd. This breed is known as a Bulldog Shepherd, which makes sense.
This pup looks like a mutt, but I don't think that's a bad thing. He's got the best qualities of each of his parents. I like him just the way he is.
A Curious Cocker-Pei
This is Vinny and he's a cross between a Cocker Spaniel and a Shar-Pei. Cocker Spaniels aren't exactly wrinkly per se, at least not as wrinkly as a Shar-Pei. They do have pretty loose skin though. This dog has the face of a Shar-Pei, but the loose skin of a Cocker Spaniel.

A Sassy Aussiepom
This is Sahki Rose. She's a gorgeous Aussiepom, which means she's a cross between an Australian Shepherd and a Pomeranian. She's got the body and shape of a Pomeranian with the beautiful merle coloring of an Australian Shepherd.
Those blue eyes are pure Aussie, but almost everything else about this dog screams Pomeranian. I wonder if this dog would be any good at herding cattle? She's a little small for the job, but she's got Aussie blood, so she may be up for it.
A Perky Pomsky
We've already seen both Pomeranians and Huskies mixed with other breeds on this list, but what about a Pomsky? A dog that's half Pomeranian and half Husky? Well, you're in luck. Meet Kiara. She's the size of a wine bottle but she looks exactly like a Husky (just miniature).
Having a Pomsky is kind of like having a Husky that stays looking like a puppy forever. What could be better than that?
A Cheeky Chug
Ladies and gentlemen, meet Boswell. Boswell is a Chug, which means he's part Pug and part Chihuahua. Basically, he's a Chihuahua with a squished up face. Just when you though a Chihuahua couldn't get any better, someone went and bred one with a Pug.
Boswell kind of looks grumpy all the time, but that's part of his charm. That head tilt is everything. Don't you just want to pet his little face?
A Charming Chusky
I had no idea that this combination of breeds existed, but now that I know Chuskies are a thing, I think I just have to have one. This is Bones. He's a cross between a Husky and a Chow Chow. Basically, he's a giant teddy bear and I'm obsessed with him. Look at those eyes!
He's so fluffy! I just realized that any breed you mix with a Chow just becomes a fluffier version of that breed and I'm all for it.
A Dashing Dalmachshund
This is what happens when you mix a Dalmatian with a Dachshund. You get this beautiful creature. This little dog looks just like a Dachshund, except that he has spots all over his body, just like a Dalmatian.
He has all the elegance of a Dalmatian, but all the portability of a lap dog. This pup is a fashion-forward doggo on the go. Just keep him away from Cruella De Vil.
A Darling Dachi
This little pup is a cross between a Dachshund and a Chihuahua. It's basically a long Chihuahua. If you've ever looked at a Chihuahua and thought, "this is a nice dog, but I just wish it was longer, than you definitely need a Dachi in your life.
This dog can sell you Taco Bell and hot dogs at the same time. Is there a hot dog company that uses a Dachshund as a mascot? There should be.
A Glorious Golden Dox
This is the silliest Dachshund I've ever seen. That's because she isn't really a Dachshund, not a full Dachshund anyway. This pup is a cross between a Dachshund and a Golden Retriever. She's a Golden Dox.
Not all Golden Doxes look like really fluffy Dachshunds. Some look more like long Golden Retrievers. There's a difference. Trust me. It's all in the face. I want to touch this dog's fluffy ears so badly.
The Cutest Corgle
This is Stu Pickles. Yes, he was named after Stu Pickles from Rugrats. Stu is a Corgle, which means that he's part Beagle and part Corgi. He kind of looks like a long, squat Beagle.
Stu is living his best life. If we were all a little bit more like Stu, the world would be a better place. Look at that tongue! Somebody take this dog for a walk. He's sitting so patiently with his leash on.
A Perfect Pitsky
This is Stella. She looks very serious in this photo, but actually she's pretty silly most of the time. Stella is a Pitsky, which means that she's half Pit Bull and half Husky. She's got the coloring and gorgeous blue eyes of a Husky, but the body and attitude of a Pit Bull.
She kind of looks like she's wearing a tuxedo. This is a dog that's always ready for a black tie affair.
A Beautiful Beaglier
This is Kobe. He's a cross between a Beagle and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are kind of like Cocker Spaniels, except they're smaller, and they're usually brown and white.
This pup has the face and body of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, but the ears and coloring of a Beagle. He looks super sleepy in this photo. It's hard work being an adorable puppy.
Two Bold Bullmatians
These dogs are known as Bullmatians. They're a cross between a Bulldog and a Dalmatian. You see, when a Bulldog and a Dalmatian love each other very much, they get together and create these gorgeous spotty creatures.
One parent of these pups must have been a liver-spotted Dalmatian because they both have brown spots, not black spots. I haven't seen a Bullmatian before, but now I kind of want one.
Another Chusky?
I know we already had a Chusky on this list, but we didn't have this Chusky on this list. This Chusky is a puppy, and he looks like he's trouble already.
We have included two Chuskies on this list to show you the range of genetic variation that's possible with mixed breed dogs. This dog is also a Chusky, but he looks nothing like the other Chusky on this list.
A Cheerful Chowba
This is Leo. His mom is a Chow Chow and his dad is a Shiba Inu. If you thought Shiba Inus couldn't get any cuter (that's definitely what I thought), you were wrong.
They can get fluffier if you mix them with a Chow Chow, and science tells us that the fluffier a thing is, the cuter it is. Fluffiness and cuteness are directly proportional. Leo is a shining example of that fact.
A Shy Sheppug
This dog is a cross between a Pug and a German Shepherd. You might be thinking, this dog is pretty weird looking. Well, you'd be right. But he's also pretty cute. Weirdness and cuteness have some sort of scientific relationship, it's just not a straightforward relationship like fluffiness and cuteness.
This dog got a giant bone for Christmas, so clearly somebody loves him. He's also waiting patiently while someone takes a picture of him in front of that giant bone, so he must be a very good boy.
A Happy Hullie
This is Clooney. He's part Husky and part Collie. He's a puppy right now, but when he gets older he's going to be a lot bigger. I think Clooney is the perfect name for this little pup.
I can tell that this dog is going to be a movie star just like his namesake. He definitely has the looks for it. Just wait, Clooney is coming soon to a theater near you.
An Awesome Aussiepoo
This is Copper. He's an Aussiepoo, which is a cross between an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle. This mixed breed is also sometimes known as an Aussiedoodle. I don't know where the "d" in Aussiedoodle comes from though. There's no "d" in Aussie or Poodle. Well, there is a "d" in poodle, but I'm talking about the other "d."
It should be called an Aussieoodle or and Aussieshoodle. The "sh" corresponds to "shepherd."
