HBO Is Looking To Sink Its Teeth Back Into True Blood
True Blood first aired on HBO for seven seasons from 2008 until 2014. The show pushed the boundaries of the premium cable network, earned millions of fans, and enjoyed critical acclaim. Thought to be dead by many, HBO is now reportedly looking to have the show rise from the grave with a reboot.
That means that an all-new cast will be brought in, as well as an all-new show runner and creative team. The story will start back from the beginning, and most likely involve familiar elements from the novels the property is based on.
The New Creative Team Helped Bring Riverdale To Life
To help re-launch True Blood, HBO is bringing back original series creator Alan Ball as a producer. Ball won't be writing the new version of his show, but he will be guiding Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Jami O'Brien as they look to bring life back to the dead.
Aguirre-Sacasa is most notable for adapting Riverdale into a live-action series for The CW network. Before that, he was the chief creative officer of Archie comics. With the series in the early stages of development, it's anyone's guess as to whether or not HBO will order to series. If they do, will you be tuning in?
